A Postnatal Day Nanny is more valuable for mothers who are breastfeeding at night
and would like to have that needed rest while the Postnatal Day Nanny settles the baby.
Alternatively, this may be suitable for those parents who have more than one baby and want
to spend time with older siblings.
The Postnatal Day Nanny will do the following:
- Set feeding and sleeping routines tailored to each family’s circumstances.
- Wind and settle the baby so you can catch up with sleep during the day.
- Some mothers find that a Postnatal Day Nurse can provide an opportunity to enjoy some respite whilst knowing that their little ones are being taken care of.
- This may provide some free time to enjoy rest, leisure activities, or a chance to complete overdue tasks.
- Take the baby for a walk.
- Help with simple household chores e.g. loading and emptying the dishwasher.
- The Postnatal Day Nanny normally works from 9am to 7pm and will normally leave the baby settled in the cot in the evening so you can have time for yourself.
- Most Postnatal Day Nannies will not be responsible for any other household chores that are not directly related to the baby.
- This is something that you should discuss during the interview process because some Day Nannies will be willing to undertake extra duties upon request. This is entirely at the discretion of the individual Day Nanny.
